As a frequent visitor to West End theatres, I've never seen any type of scanner.

Theatre's in Dorset and Hampshire have scanners held by secruity guards and they check my bags Barney.

Oh, I hear you. It's like being treated like cattle with criminal tendencies.

I disagree to be honest, nothing to hide nothing to worry about. Even the smallest of theatres now have security now and some time body and metal scanncers, even if you are seeing a tacky tribute act.

If some male security officer gets a thrill touching my flabby Dad bod and shiny belts, it's say more him than me.

Much though I plan; pack the right things in the right places, easily removable (laptops, iPads, phones, watches) I always forget something. Credit cards, of course set off alarms and must be removed and sent through again. My expensive small flask of coffee for consumption on plane? Oh dear no - thrown away. At least they didn't make me take off my shoes so I don't need to walk barefoot the several miles to my gate.

I bet it wasn't like this with your 363 Concorde flights was it.

Whatever happened to those body scanners that literally revealed everything about you through your clothing, and I mean everything.

Al Gershwin Earlier this year, my Swiss Army Knife was confiscated by security at LHR; very small (c3 inches long) - but extremely handy and attached to my keyring.

I protested strongly - to no avail - bearing in mind a variety of such Victorinox items are for sale at airport shops! Some large with numerous blades; mine had two.

Bon Voyage....
