hedda Pope Francis is the only church identity to speak out about Gaza.

I like him and I recall he Cardinal Pell were extremely close friends for decades which I thought said much about their characters.

Francis is very left wing and Pell a fierce conservative so they must have found something in each other's character they agreed upon.

According to my Italian investigative journalist pal it was Francis giving Pell the job to clean up the Vatican fiances was like the kiss of death for Pell.

Sadly the conviction rates are very low - after years of saying it didn't occur. The present Pope was the first to admit and apologise.
