JK2006 That may be the answer Foz but it's still very annoying.

I loved going to sleep in the chill and cold of the North of Europe and waking up after a night of chugging and rocking and rolling (Stop it Matron) speeding along the sunny, bright, hot, blue coast of the Mediterranean.

But I suppose this fast new technology catches up with us all eventually.

Who would have thought you'd be reading this seconds after I thought it?
Foz Are they replacing them with the TGV's or similar? I imagine a sleeper service would not be viable if the journey was only going to take a couple of hours.
Solihull Exile I'm surprised about that,it was always popular back in my day(1990s).Cost quite a bit,but with today's petrol prices it possibly works out cheaper, and more comfortable.
I'm lucky that there are good sleeper services here in Eastern europe, and extremely cheap, but of course without the car service.
Enjoy seeing the cars lined up in Calais,a real treat of luxury car spotting, and a whole host of celebrities used that service back then.At this rate europe will end up with a train service similar to Amtrack!
JK2006 I was horrified to read in The Times - SNCF (French Railways) have scrapped the sleeper services to the South of France!

No more of those wonderful summer trips where I put the car on a train and sleep in luxury as the train rumbles down through France, waking to the blue Mediterranean with a mug of hot coffee and sight of palm trees and blue sky.

Oh My God.

Civilization is collapsing.
