JK2006 Poor little Geoffrey (Dominic) had his heart broken in today's episode.

Who'd have thought he'd go on to be a heart throb rock star in Lost and a Hobbit?
JK2006 I watched every show first time around ten years ago and loved them but I have to admit I can't remember any of them; I'm loving them again but they are all virgin fresh.

Is this a comment on my powers of retention or on the transitory effect of TV?

I have to add that I'm totally surprised by 90% of Entertainment USA when I watch it again, so even my own shows have passed me by!
JK2006 I'm so glad you saw it; they appear to be running two a day every day for the next three weeks (they originally made 4 series).

It was one of my guilty pleasures - well, not that guilty, I raved about it on my huge rated national radio shows!!
mickeyone I've just watched the same episode - quite delightful.
Wonderful performances from the three pricipals, and Anne Reid as the mother of the schizophrenic.
As you say, beautifully scripted and directed - the sort of thing that the BBC used to do so well
JK2006 An incredible story today about a schizophrenic who wanders off and dies.

A little tale about ordinary Northern people.

Quite beautifully told, acted, written, directed.

They don't make television like it anymore.

What a shame. Because Hetty Wainthropp warranted my licence fee back in 1995.
