The other thing I have hundreds of, of course, is BOOKS. For a start there are all the ones I've written and keep stored to supply Amazon. Every year I buy and try to read all 6 Booker finalists (over 30 years that's around 200 books). Books don't sell as well as vinyl (neither do CDs and Cassettes - thousands of each) but you can get £5 for a high profile one so that's a few thousand quid - food for the King tummy; drink for the King bladder; petrol for the King cars; hotel rooms for the King sleep.
And, of course, fees for King lawyers and doctors.

Oh many more than 3000 Hedda - thousands are now in storage (James will collect them and bring them back now we're selling). Remember - as a DJ and TV host I got millions of promo discs for such hopeful (loser) groups as LEAD ZEPPULING! Now worth good money - as GM found. We are talking four figure sums - every month. It will be my pension. Most I used to give to charity. Shelter must have had enough to build a dozen homes!

Where does it all come from JK?. It's like it reproduces. I have the same problem, cupboards overflowing with memories.
And bloody business papers !
So far I've had a professional service visit twice to takes boxes of frigging papers seemingly from decades ago and old hard drives to be destroyed.
How on earth did you store 3000 discs n a Mews house?

Hope the vinyl goes for a good price. My partner and I are selling things off, managed to make £200 from just a few books and 6 LPS. It's for a holiday funds.

When you've lived somewhere for 60 years there is often a need to spring clean. Recently, having decided to sell off all my vinyl, we started emptying cupboards that haven't been opened for decades. Loads of old albums and singles but fascinating how Surrey Police, who searched my home from top to bottom in 2015, went through everything. It took them 4 days. They even lifted floor boards and opened soft furnishings and toys. And found NOTHING. No porn. No naked photos. Because there was nothing to find. You'd have thought they would have dropped their prosecution but no, they continued and were shown up in 2018 when I was declared NOT GUILTY of several charges and a retrial was refused for the rest - the Judge having seen our defence. Cops were fired (just the junior ones - the senior ones always survive and get promoted).
Same as in 2000/1 - but back then they took a few dozen perfectly acceptable snaps of teenage boys from the thousands of old polaroids I had of friends, couples, grand parents etc... declaring to court (and media) they had found "photos of teenagers" but never showing those to court (or media) as they were totally innocent. Police standard behaviour back then - as was (we've since learned) arresting, raping and murdering women using their warrant cards. And (as happened to Rolf Harris) saying PORN was found on his computer which mysteriously disappeared before prosecution.
But no wonder in 2015 it took a team of a dozen FOUR DAYS to go through the house. It took James and me a whole day to empty ONE CUPBOARD yesterday and I'm spending all day today going through the bags found in there - paperwork from 1968, old wires and plugs - and massive quantities of ancient coins in envelopes from hundreds of countries - none worth anything! The 3000 vinyl records have already been collected and taken away to be sold online.
