Some real furphys are always trotted out on social media about Woody Allen including the claim he married his adopted daughter.
But he actually married composer Andre Previn and his then wife Mia Farrow's adopted daughter and the clue is in her name.. Soon-Yi Previn. Soon-Yi and Allen have been together now for decades and have children of their own.
I really like his films but perhaps they are an acquired taste. I know not everyone does. Not sure though that he's a "Hollywood director" as all his films are made in New York or Europe.
I wonder how a film tariff will affect streaming services that could base their HQs out of the US.
And this could cause utter chaos at the Cannes Film Festival where so many foreign deals are done.
China, a huge market for foreign films has now limited the number of films to be imported. They have their own huge film industry and likewise India.
This seems a really odd move by Trump and sounds very complicated as US made films make money in the US but need foreign markets like Europe, Oz and Asia to be profitable.
Hollywood studios are already saying this could backfire badly. Wonder if this odd advice came from Trump's Hollywood advisers, Jon Voight, Sylvester Stallone and the even more extreme right wing Mel Gibson (I actually really like Gibson's films)

Woody Allen another one who is dodgy in Hollyweird, it may not be illegal but damn it's immoral and pretty revolting.
Fears Trump’s foreign film tariffs could ‘wipe out’ UK movie industry
Union warns 100% levy could be ‘knockout blow’ and urges ministers to defend sector and those who work in it
Cue Starmer to sweat, wet himself and wait to see what Reform say. Then by Thursday he'll warn against Antisemitism, write a love letter to Trump, and show off his collection of Woody Allen films on DVD.

Cinema is going to be a thing of the past anyway, when I walked past the Odeon to get to ASDA, a group of teens thought about going to see a film, they looked at the prices and said we wait until Netflix or Disney stream it, the film they wanted to see they were the target market for. Are Disney still trying to push that wokey Snow White movie?
I can't even remember the last movie I saw in the cinema. I would have gone to see Slade In Flame if there was a cinema showing it near me, but there is not.
I guess I could do what the dodgy Chinese men did in the pubs, download bootlegs. I never did have a passion for movies, unlike music. I could see Pink Floyd in Pompeii on the big screen, but I have it on DVD, and it's very cheap to buy on DVD today. So what's the point?
