One utterly bizarre case of a journalist's hysteria in the Pell case was that of a very well known top Oz political journalist who in his early life had been a trainee priest in the 70s at the same time as Pell in Ballarat , Victoria.
Pell emotionally supported a later convicted priest Gerard Risdale in court appearance. Risdale admitted numerous abuse crimes.
This political reporter said he found it incredible that Pell claimed he did not know of Risdale's abuse as Pell had shared a house with Risdale, along with about 20 other trainee priests.
Yet as revealed and the journalist confirmed and admitted it..he, the journalist had actually shared the same bedroom as Risdale in the same house & never noticed any signs of Risdale's abuse..
This was a prime example of the hysterical nonsense that can be perpetuated about alleged priestly abuse which is why real evidence should be presented, not hysterical prejudice. |

Same old cloudy one-side fake media 'nonce' note.
While 70yrs ongoing in plain-sight somehow unseen by dense fake media. Millions of sexually 'amused' young fans, often underage, chased, grabbed, groped, groomed, fucked adult Rock-Pop Stars.
Many fans, now grinning grannies & grandads, fondly recall their illegal fun sex with adult stars like 'Love Magnet' JK.
Quote, dry-wit 'Love Magnet' Lennon asked what he thought of the Beatles constantly chased by young girls, "I think it's terrible."
Blue sky both sides now, please GM and fake media? |

A wise policy - which clearly isn't adhered to, by some posters here! |

If Trump was the new Pope you would feel the same way, Cat.
If Trump was the new Pope he'd have already declared that Musk had a guaranteed place in heaven, condemned the poor, wanting Vatican 2 to be built in Gaza, and renamed Saint Peter’s Basilica -Trump Towers.
Taking a Daily Mail article at face value is rather risky and I'd need to know far more of the facts to make a judgement.
It's people right to think anything they want about religion but Pope Leo heads a church with 1.4 billion followers which makes him a powerful and significant figure.
Charles Manson had followers so di Jim Jones who was head of a church. |

Recall the absurdity of the Cardinal George Pell accusations.
Not 2 but just one live accuser. 1000s of people including journalists accepted the nonsense as did police.
One sole accuser, the other having died of a drug overdose whose mother gave evidence to the court that her son had told her he was never abused in the Church yet the other accuser was believed when he said the opposite.
A dead man giving evidence?
All 7 judges of Canberra's High Court agreed there had been a grievous miscarriage of justice and freed Pell.
Yet because they didn't use the word "innocent" although by it's very nature the Judgement concluded Pell had not carried out the alleged acts, numerous journalists concluded he was still somehow guilty.
This was despite the absurdity of the sole accuser confidently describing, and jurors believing it, the exact lay out of a church's premises that hadn't been built until years after Pell had left.
One so-called witness claimed he had observed a nude Pell in a swimming pool change room decades previously when Pell was just a priest and this somehow proved something. This nonsense was accepted.
I didn't know at the time but Pell had 100,000s of ordinary Catholics contributing to his legal costs.
The media and hacks even fiercely attacked Pell's close friend former PM Tony Abbott for privately visiting Pell in jail, just 2 months before the High Court judgment overturning the conviction..
I never accept claims of priestly abuse at face value because of the irrational hatred of the church. |
