hedda The Hollywood and US actor's union SAG went on strike over this very matter in 2023 and were successful in the end.

Their beef was that the big film studios and producers ..and they should know as the union members include all the special effects experts...could use actors and extra's images over and over again in future productions without paying them.
Jo I didn't know that there had been talk of the Trump administration doing this 6 years ago or of the "tech bros" being in cahoots with it then. The viral article dates from 2024.
