I sort of met him once.
I was walking home at Notting Hill Gate and Tony Benn stopped me to ask if I knew where the theatre was..which was literally right in front of us.
I thought it odd as he had always lived just down the road at Holland Park.
A political hero for me. As was Michael Foot. These were real Labour men not like the phony Starmer.

I would have loved to have met him JK. It says it all when Thatcher actually said she was more intimidated by Michael Foot than by Neil Kinnock. It's because Kinnock set the ball rolling to the right. The problem being there was no plan to stop it. Gordon Brown later on tried, but it was too late. Shame Brown didn't come before Blair.

Lovely guy - I met him several times and he was a huge Eurovision fan!

My all time favourite Parliamentarian. An inspirational man, and the greatest leader Labour never had. Vociferously Anti war he warned against going into Iraq and quite rightly predicted a catastrophe. Kinnock and Blair couldn't hold a candle to him. He makes Starmer look like a weeping haemorrhoid. Labour has completely lost its path in life. The party wont recover in my lifetime. I've probably got about 20 years. Blink of an eye. Someone needs to step up.
