JK2006 And of course I've now rewatched All About Eve; it is still wonderful but Bette is Better in Now Voyager. Why don't they write scripts like this anymore?
JK2006 Gladys Cooper was wonderful as the wicked mother. Along with Imelda Staunton as the awful Umbridge in the Potter movies (a triumph) - a deliciously nasty character.
JK2006 Bette Davis finest performance - especially the early scenes. Another of my favourite films (actually even better than All About Eve). As a young actress my Mum was often told she looked like Bette.
