hedda well Rich Margaret Thatcher famously said Tony Blair was her greatest achievement.
Downing Street Cat Not a Blair fan, but he brought in a minimum wage which Thatcher dare not do, and he brought peace in Northern Ireland, another enormous Thatcher failure. Never been sure why people idolise her so much. And remember she had the weakest most unappealing opposition in Kinnock.
Rich Both Mrs Thatcher and Mr Blair still loom large over the country it seems. Most other PM's play second fiddle to these two.

You Hedda mention Thatcher's legacy persisting to this day, and only yesterday on Talk TV I was hearing about how Blair's legacy is persisting and the root of many of our now issues long after he's been out of office too. That last one was in a discussion with another PM, Liz Truss!

Many on the left are still blaming Thatcher for the country's ills, whilst those on the right are blaming Blair!

Local councils have a statutory duty to house the homeless although there are conditions.

One being don't be a single male without children.

Not something those overwhelmingly male and presumably mainly single men who float across illegally have to worry about.

No that is not one of the conditions, they relate more to how you became homeless.

I did have a late friend who bought 2 houses in South London and turned them into B&Bs and filled them via the local council.

He always said dealing with most of the tenants was a sheer nightmare with junkies and severe mental illness an ongoing problem.

And that's another problem..closing so many mental health hospitals for "care in the community".

Thatcher started this and her antics persist today. Allowing councils to sell off housing at a discount (so more desirable areas were sold leaving pockets of slums) and forbidding councils from using the money to build more housing.

Yet most of Europe and especially France the law states there must be a certain percentage of social housing in every borough town and city to ensure a mix of people.

The Berlin city council tried to sell of their social housing a couple of decades ago and there were riots so it never happened.

You've no idea what these young men may have to worry about Rich...
