In The Know Stranger things have happened in the murky world of politics, Anthony.

It's only been revealed today that British Security studied Hitler's horoscope during WW2, in attempts to find out when he was most vulnerable !

Anthony Interesting thoughts there, ITK, and there could be some truth in that.

I still think it's more likely just a case of a seriously ill old man hanging on for grim death, and the inevitable rumours that surround that situation when the old man is a former world leader and a highly controversial one at that.
In The Know I've been thinking more about what you said.

Anthony wrote:
I can't see what possible advantage there could be for them in covering up his death for so long.

I could turn that question around, Anthony, and ask "What possible advantage can their be in keeping someone who is clearly clinical dead, on a respirator and pretending that he's still alive"

I suspect that the political climate may be to blame. When someone dies there is a natural tendancy to look back at their life.

It may be politically unwise to "remind" people of the controversy surrounding Sharon (ie Shabra and Shatilla refugess camps etc) at a time when people are trying to bring the sides together and get a peace deal.
In The Know I agree, Anthony, but he's been "clinically dead" for some time now, and the media says that reports of his death have been prepared and then withdrawn.

Google "arial sharon dead" and you will see there is a wealth of speculation.
Anthony But why on earth would the Israelis want to do that?

I can't see what possible advantage there could be for them in covering up his death for so long.
