Hey Victor I'm absolutely with you - we always knew exactly where we were with Maggie, she never lied, was often wrong but did what she did without fear or favour because she felt it was right (and she was so wrong about the Poll Tax she lost her job).
You always knew where you stood and, more important, knew she was an intelligent person who made decisions based on the good of the country.
Blair made decisions that were good for Blair.

Thatcher or New Labour? You decide? I think I'll plump for Thatcher. Thing is she didn't lie to the people. She did what she did openly and gave her reasons. Blair deceived the public, whilst pretending to care.
Now I ask..what is worse?
veritas
Yeh- hated her when she was in power but somehow can't help but admire her now. Especially after Blair.

She certainly had charisma, I'll give her that, but I probably disagreed with 99% of her policies. I blame her for starting off the rot in British society. She created the "Me Me Me- couldn't give a shit about anyone else" society.
Successive Labour governments have refused to do anything to reverse this, and have added state interference and the dismantling of our civil rights for good measure. Nearly 30 years of misery between them.
