JK2006 Your point is good Veritas and I fear exposes the reason for the madness - too much too fast without thinking things through.

Consequences and ramifications get forgotten.

And in Government terms that is extraordinary - laws passed without a second's thought about how will it affect, for example, the lowest paid (scrap the 10p rate) or the falsely accused.

And the result? Insanity.
veritas remember the TV show Max Headroom where everyone would be making their own television shows and everything would be fiction..was it the 80's ??..seems so long ago yet presicted what is happening now..and we didn't have computers then or the internet and yet it's all happened.

It's the pace of everything.
Bonkers Yes JK we have all gone mad - and you're not the only one to notice.
JK2006 Am I alone in noticing that the big media stories seem to be fiction?

The Jersey school abuse - now does not seem to have happened.

The story of the past decade - Diana murdered - seems to have been rubbish.

Shannon Matthews - weeks of headlines - never happened.

The McCanns - months of coverage for a one line story - little girl disappears.

And yet the media goes on inventing and exaggerating and inflating and writing and filming...

It happened to me - arrest and conviction for crimes that never took place.

George Orwell's 1984 has arrived, 16 years later.
