Topic History of: VILE PERVERT: THE MUSICAL - one week after we launched.

JK2006 A week ago we went online and screened it at the glorious old CORONET cinema in Notting Hill Gate.

Some interesting opinions (Google Vile Pervert) from several websites, blogs and media outlets. Still, for me, the Madame Arcati review beats the rest hands down.

And a week in we have coming up for 2000 people who have at least watched it - with the site moving ahead nicely and hundreds of downloads to match those watching it stream live and in colour.

Comments range from criticism of my technical skills (quite right too; I'm a total amateur when it comes to the art of iMovies!) - my favourite one comments politely on the "zooming in on stills" technique and I'm in full agreement... but then I could never write music down either - thank God for the talented arrangers (like Johnny Arthey and Arthur Greenslade, both sadly departed) who wrote my silly notes down on paper, the talented musicians who played and sometimes sang my songs, the talented engineers who made sure the sounds converted to record...

to pure hatred and bile (LOVE IT - the purpose in life is to prod the bigots into revealing themselves and it is so easy)...

to limited and sometimes grudging praise...

to delight.

If you haven't watched it yet, please do. And whilst I apologise for my lack of skill, I hope my messages (which intend to cover far more than just injustice or satire or music - there is quite a lot of artistic commentary buried in there, if you look closely and can see beyond the obvious) amuse, enlighten and entertain you.
