The organisation she fronted still exists - they were the National Viewers and Listeners Association (I think) and now Mediawatch (I think )
Her legacy is that her organisation effectively died with her. Perhaps since she emerged we have become less prurient and repressed as a nation that we (certainly her) were.

I read that too - and found it sad. I think she was 91 when she died 7 years ago.
veritas
There was an interesting interview with her youngest son in the Mail about how cold she was towards him ( he was busted for dope when 18 and basically ostracised by her) even in her retirement home and still fighting the cause at 81.
In The Know
I too enjoyed the programme and agree that it was too pro-Mary, except for the end credits which tended to bring it back to Earth by pointing out that she really was a loony.
It was also a good example of what can happen when a self-appointed bigot chooses to decide what the rest of us can / cannot do.
Personally, I think Green did the right thing by ignorring her altogether.

My thoughts on the Mary Whitehouse show. Worth reading generally I think.
