Not quite as good as Lion, Witch, Wardrobe but excellent stuff, very well done by people who obviously care about and understand CS Lewis.
Didn't like the lead actor at all (he's several years too old and speaks, like the other villains, in an annoying pseudo Italian/Spanish accent) and felt more should have been made of the delightful Reepicheep and Trumpkin (the best in the book).
The plot is a bit thin (compared to the masterpiece The Magician's Nephew which should be the best movie of the series by miles) but the effects are brilliant (especially the battle at the end involving the earth, I won't reveal more).
9 out of 10 and well worth seeing - miles better than the Lord of the Rings trilogy (though I'm hopeful for the Hobbit, far and away the best story).
The adaptors are really scrupulous.
Incidentally there is more Christian analogy in this - which I think appropriate; even an agnostic like me loves the story and the best parts of the Jesus fable - but you really get to notice the other, vital elements that Christians and anti-Christians tend to ignore in Lewis, the Mother Nature part. The trees are totally crucial in all the stories as are the animals and the forces of nature such as the power of water.
I've always felt Lewis has been unfairly labelled as a Christian writer. The greatness of his stories are far bigger than that.
