JK2006 Very good point Anthony.
Anthony The British Olympic Committee might be secretly hoping the Russians do catch us up. If Britain comes third in the medal table, then such amazing over-achievement would leave no room for improvement for 2012, at least in terms of the medal table.

No way anyone can get ahead of USA and China.
JK2006 Watching Russia coming up below us in the Gold medals, I hope we stay ahead but there's nothing wrong with healthy competition.

Russia beat us in Eurovision for one reason - their entry was far better than ours.

We're beating Russia at the moment for the same reason - we're (astonishingly) better than them.
