Well who can afford to live that long? Thanks for letting me view the post.

Not only live to 125 but "...and remove threat of cancer"!
BTW Please don't refer to what "the scientists involved believe". It's what the Daily Mail believe, if you read the paper I willing to wager it's not quite how the DM boffins reported it.
...next week's Daily Mail feature "Living to 125 causes cancer"? That usually how that bastion of good sense operates.
I've been following the research on life extension for a long time and have been expecting a breakthrough like this for a while. The scientists involve believe that within 20 years we will have extended the average healthy human lifespan to 125. Actually, it's probable this could be the first of many breakthroughs and quite possible that many of us here today could still be alive at the end of this millenium.
But do we want to and will we destroy our planet first? Seems a tragedy that as the world becomes an increasingly not very nice place in which to live in, we are on the brink of achieving immortality. Apart from society becoming steadily nastier, I'm sure there will be a world war in the next few decades.
I think increasing our lifespans will only work if the scientists increase our intelligence as well.
