veritas Of course Great Minds think alike and Alice is reflecting just what I was thinking !

I thought one thing that may come out of this was an attack upon the jury system-or an attempt by the government to set some sort of new tribunal for "special" crimes ala Guantanamo Bay and those infamous trials (where the accused isn't allowed access to evidence).

There is a sustained attack upon our system of law-one that has served us so well, despite the terrible perversions of the law perpetuated by some persons ( you know who !)

She is correct in her comments about the police's prejudical statements-nothing new there, they do it all the time.

Another disturbing trend-those who complain of sexual assault should be referred to as the "complainant"-not "victim". It is only fair to the accused.
Denise A very well written article, and quite brave considering the direction this country is going. I have been surprised by the way the television news seem to be talking the government's talk without asking any serious questions. I prefer the media to be independent.
JK2006 I was beginning to wonder whether the universal opinion was "these terrorists got off so we must try them again and convict them".

The judicial system stinks but at least we should behave as though they get it right when they acquit.
