BR	I believe Mary had an angel visit and tell her. So in her case I beieve it was a miracle birth. According to New Labour Mary's fiancee Joseph would have been arrested and put on the front cover of all the tabloids. !! and probably had his movements restricted so Mary would not have been able to give birth in Bethlehem. Might consider doing a NEW LABOUR BIBLE where the story is re-written to take on board the bizarre and nasty society that NEW LABOUR have created in the UK. The Wise Men for instance would have been put in a detention centre - and their "gifts" would have been consfiscated.... Any more ?
veritas	there are so many interpretations of these great books but being bethrothed was more a committment for the future and did necessarily result in an actual act ! One great Dead Sea srolls scholar says everyone has got it wrong about the "virgin birth" of Jesus. She says the meaning of "virgin" in those days meant that the women hadn't yet given birth... not,not had sex.So "virgin" births were obviously common.
BR	The mother of Jesus was 13 when she gave birth. with life expectancy of around 20 - 30 years and many women dying in childbirth this was totally normal back in those days/ When we apply modern day laws to past cultures they fail the test of time. So Mohammed was not a paedophile because a 9 year old bride who had reached puberty would have been an adult in that society. This is yet another attack on ISLAM by the West - and to try and undermine their religion. If this is allowed then we should accuse GOD of being a Paedophile for impregnating a 12 year old Virgin Mary.
