Good point! It is where the internet radios have a disadvantage, as I dont believe there is a hot spot on beachy head (yet).

Ah, Foz, so when I go for a picnic on Beachy Head, I can't switch on my internet radio because I ain't got broadband there?

Yes you can now - Pure radios have just released a portable one called the Flow with an optional rechargable battery pack. Probably lasts 5 mins if youre listening to internet radio but it's a start.
Re the connection, I bought a cheap one a year ago to try it out thinking it would be a problem setting up, but you do literally just have to plug them in to your broadband or type in the WiFi code for wireless connection. Mine connected first time.
By the way I dont have shares in these things, I was just exasperated at how digital radio is operated in this country. Loads of people listen to DAB, but they just listen to the likes of Radio 2 or 4 so the new stations like theJazz which I thought was pretty good have folded within a year. Now it's mooted that they are bringing out DAB+ and any DAB radio bought before 2008 won't be able upgrade to this, therefore they wont get any of the new DAB stations which open in the future. So I think there will soon be many people defecting to internet radio especially with the increase in wireless broadband

Internet radio is quite complicated to set up isn't it? I've thought about getting one but wouldn't I need to be on a wireless network or something for it to work? It's not just a case of plug in and off you go is it?
DAB is ok but I find it's quite restrictive for choice. My grandmother was most disappointed recently when Smooth Radio was removed from the DAB multiplex around here.

Is it battery powered Foz?
I promised my brother one for Xmas two years ago but couldn't find a portable battery powered one.
