What about all the PRANK CALLS from Steve Wright and that PRANK programme on BBC 1.

There has been far worse carried by the BBC.

PLEASE explain worse pranks from the BBC...
I'm Not A Celebrity So Andrew Sachs wasn't 'offended' and wasn't 'upset'? So it's perfectly alright to phone grandfathers and make lewd comments about their grandchildren? That's perfectly acceptable? But it's only celebrities who are wrongfully persecuted? Joe Public would be in a police cell had he done what Ross and Brand did. I don't see why these two should be immune to prosecution as it is a criminal offence to leave abusive messages on an answerphone. The BBC's responses have been pathetic and there has also been an element of sickening self pity. Should this have happened on a commercial station the culprits would have been sacked instantly. As a license payer I demand higher standards. As we all should.
JK2006 You'll find Al that indeed she did have sex with Russell 3 times.
It should have remained a private matter.
But silly student pranky jokes are the staple diet of late night radio.
They should not be inflated into mass consumption by irresponsible tabloids - that's my point.

I don't approve of it at all.
But a late night silliness is different from spreading it everywhere for one reason...

IT'S A GOOD STORY!
Al Is it your view, JK, that the BBC should have no standards at all? That people should not consider the feelings of others?

Andrew Sachs' granddaughter has now joined calls for Brand and Ross to be sacked. Seems like she and Andrew were genuinely offended. I'd have to see evidence before I believe that they've been prompted by the media to just act offended.

The shame is that it's been dragged into the public domain, but now that it is we can't be surprised that the media are milking it. There's no escaping the fact that Brand and Ross created this and, like children, they must be made to realise that all actions have consequences.

Of course, if Brand did not have sex with the granddaughter, there might even be legal consequences.
Al There was snow in southern England in October 1974.

Up here in the bleak North we've had it more often.

Nothing new.
