Angel Sounds like a lot of scaremongering. AGAIN.
zooloo I understand it is policing the influx of people around an event which requires resources as much as the immediate area of an event.

The article you refer to states it is "money-making events" so as far as the article informs us charities need not be concerned which means we can put that to one side for now.

It's not really double accounting as the article is talking about policing above and beyond that which has been paid for by local rate-payers.

The question remains; if the people profiting from a "money-making event" don't pay who ought to pay and why?
BR This is not about Policing the event itself. You seem to have misunderstood.

It is about the surrounding town or area.

This is a massive change to the law and would effect Music Festivals the worst because Police could charge for their time from Motorway Junctions to any traffic control on country roads or even stop and searchs of up to 150,000 going to a festival.....The BIKER FESTIVAL would have been presented with a

Dominic Dee I'm sure there are police officers who also like to go to football matches and concerts so I can't see this working.
