veritas
It sounds like everyone involved has enormous sympathy for this cop and the ordeal he has been through ( I do !) but I wish this compassion was extended to all accused persons.

I've known plenty of policemen over the years, mainly of the 'old school' quite a few arseholes but the ones I was friends with were often 'up against it' and there were indeed some extraordinary witch-hunts going down, often just to prove a point they would destroy a career - and on a couple of occasions the lives of the officers concerned
My second thought is how did the evidence disappear - and how that compares to the raid on Tory Green.......
Does seem that the Police have immunity to prosecution unless it is a witch hunt.
But
It seems that a "serial" alleger is behind the claims - which possibly means it is a false accuser - and surely if that was the case having been proved innocent once surely this PC was entitled to carrying on with his job and life.
