JK2006 I bought the DVD of The Golden Compass and just watched it again; it's even better than I remembered.

As a massive fan of the books (His Dark Materials - best trilogy of the century, by a long way) I feared the worst but I adored the film.

It flopped in the USA due to the Christian right militants but made millions here in the UK - quite right too.

Second film please (my favourite of the three - The Subtle Knife).
