armydude i too would like to know what's going on. Suddenly a lot of people i know are heading out to Basra, that's people who were due to be on training, others supposed to be going to the falklands even some RAF members are going to be heading out there until december.

I wonder what's going down that the news cameras aren't seeing.
In The Know <<< Iraq still owns the oil, and we still have to pay for using it.>>>

Not as simple as that. The Coaltion Provisional Authority were using profits from the "sale" of oil to finance the rebuilding of Iraq.

In other words the Iraqis were themselves paying (to Bush's mate's firm Halliburton, which had sole reconstruction rights) for the damage which Bush & Co inflicted !

Cause damage .... get someone else to pay for it .... and make a profit in the process !

I wonder whether it will still be "Iraqi oil" if they chose NOT to sell any to the USA ?
In The Know I thought this comment (from BBC website), talking about British troops, summed it up -

<<< Now they cannot go to the toilet on their bases without carrying their helmet and flak jacket. >>>

Al I don't think it's as simple as that.

Iraq still owns the oil, and we still have to pay for using it. The attacks in Basra are more to do with occupation by a foreign army, but even that's not the whole sum of it.
In The Know We want OIL

They've got OIL

QED !
