robbiex I agree, it is an excellent film. Kate Winslet's performance is outstanding, playing a woman between the ages of 36 - 70ish was amazing. She really exposes herself both physically and emotionally. I will never see her as a sex symbol again after this. I did feel that the film dragged on a little too long with the court case seems, but still well worth seeing.

Although Kate Winslett is nominated as supporting actress for this film, she is clearly the main lead in the film. The only reason she is nominated for supporting actress was because she was already nominated for leading actress in Revolutionary road and you aren't allowed 2 nominations in the same category.
JK2006 I wasn't really looking forward to it but it is superb; Kate Winslet deserves Best Actress Oscar; the guy playing the lead - David Kross - should have been nominated for Best Actor; it could well win Best Film.

In fact I think I'd vote for it over Slumdog... Slumdog is great but half an hour too long (The Reader is same length but doesn't feel it).
