veritas There are certainly any number of ratbags who will join a demo or march just for the fun or to cause trouble.

These days these marchs are usually well organised and the organisors have become very sophisticated in trying to avoid trouble as that always takes the focus off the cause and it's counter-productive.

In the great Miner's Strikes in the 70's there were many agitators who were MI5-it's not meant to be a poltical organisation but in those days it was basically an extension of the Conservative Party and the establishment.

During the miner's strikes the police quite often were very sympathetic-afterall they tended to be working class as well and had sympathy for others losing their jobs. However in any force there will be those who love violence and once a barney starts it easily gets out of hand.
BR I have read about these people. They start the battles by throwing things ?

At the Countryside March is was almost certainly the Police who created the violence by charging the protesters and injuring them.

There are loads of videos of recent protests showing that it is the Police who usually have a very short fuse.

We have always had "undercover" police - trying to infiltrate those who are out of step with Government policy - but ACPO seems to have taken this a step further.

Will these Secret Police be accountable to anyone ? Will their work be open to Freedom of Information requests ?

It seems our Government is getting more Stalinist with every move. The Police are acting like the STASI in their day to day dealings with ordinary members of the public.

These are frightening times.
veritas quote from the Mail:

"The unit also aims to identify the ring-leaders behind violent demonstrations such as the recent anti-Israel protests in London, and to infiltrate neo-Nazi groups, animal liberation groups and organisations behind unlawful industrial action such as secondary picketing"

As a veteran from many anti-war demos and the great Miner's strike during the Thatcher years they will need to look within the ranks of the police and MI5 for agitators who whip up violence!
BR Today more information has come into the Public Domain

The Driving Force behind the Football Charges is an organisation called ACPO ( Association of Chief Police Officers )

Today they are setting up SECRET FORCES

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1138755...ists.html#addComment

Secondly it has become clear that ACPO far from being the Police or even a PUBLIC body is in fact a PRIVATE COMPANY

www.acpo.police.uk/about.html

For those of you who are interested in the threat to the Country this makes it even more possible that ACPO is acting in a paid capacity to create a Police State.

Questions to ask should now be :

1. Why is a PRIVATE company exerting so much influence over Policiing policy ?

2. How can a Private Organisation decide on policy for a publicly funded organisation ? ( The Police are funded by tax )

3. Where has ACPO come from - and what are its real objectives in the UK ?

This is just the tip of an iceberg which could lead to an extreme conspiracy to take power in the UK Police - in fact the thickies in charge of New Labour may not even realise what is happening - though Jackie Smith seems to be 100% behind ACPO.
