giles2008 I think it was said to Sir Humphrey Applebey in that wonderful series "Yes Prime Minister". He was told by the head of the civil service that "Open Government is a contradiction. You can be open or you can have have government".Or maybe the reason that they havent been released is that they havent been writen yet!
veritas One thing that strikes me spending time betwen Oz & the UK with the USA, likewise-it seems that both major political parties have become virtual mirrors of each other.

Yet in most of Europe you have political parties that have clearly defined policies that differ from their opponents.

It should be hoped that Cameron will be different-as it seems he will eventually be the next PM of Britain (unless Brown goes in a party coup)

The transformation of Labour during the rule of Nu Labour under Blair has been simply astounding.

Talk about a wolf in sheep's clothing !

Is it just me or is this something Saddam or Stalin or Mugabe (print more money) might have said?

Weasel words, to be sure. But what else would you expect from a rodent like Jack Straw?
BR Stalin
