Historic cases especially are fraught with difficulty and there should be a 1 year limit on bringing a case against someone.

You should live in Iran. If a woman/girl is raped there it needs 4 unrelated men to speak up as her witnesses otherwise she is guilty of either adultery or disrespectful behaviour and the sentence ranges from a mere 200 lashes to execution.
giles2008 And the compensation hunters are bleeding the county dry. Compensation for these false accusers comes from the Tax pot. Councils who cant provide services are busy paying out millions in compensation and millions in legal fees to bloodsucking legal leeches. Its time the bank was closed.
JK2006 But you can get MONEY from making false allegations. Compensation (up to £33,000). And much more if you make claims against a celebrity (meeeejah cash).

And if you want sympathy - become a VICTIM!

Especially if you're a drunk, drug addict mugger or thief or rapist - blame it on early abuse and everyone's on your side.

If you're a police person you can get praise and glory and promotion if you convict someone (who cares if they are innocent?) especially if they are FAY MOUS!

Or if someone spurned you or dropped you or did something behind your back - revenge!

If a parent or uncle won't give you pocket money; accuse them. If a teacher won't give you decent marks - accuse them. If a local vicar shouts at you for vandalising something - accuse him.

It's a great game. And totally legal and you're unlikely to be found out.

And it's a great story.
BR False accusers should get DOUBLE the sentence their "Victim" would have been given.

This is yet another example of how false allegations are no so commonplace that people use them in disputes to "get even" or to "hassle someone".

The POLICE should never believe ANY ALLEGATION without hard evidence. One persons word against another sadly is not good enough in this day and age. It needs another witness. Historic cases especially are fraught with difficulty and there should be a 1 year limit on bringing a case against someone.
Innocent Accused She gets a year,he would have got about 10.
Is this justice?
