JK2006 Pleased to see long and honourable tributes everywhere.

He was a true British eccentric and symbolised everything we love about this country - even though he came from foreign stock.

He was also great and very funny company.

We shared many a Punch Lunch together.
david I so enjoyed him on Radio 4's Just a Minute. Oneof the greats of that show, along with Kenneth Williams and Paul Merton.
JK2006 Royalist? Because me and my agent (my brother) were both named King.
Innocent Accused Remember your one step into politics. Why as a Royalist candidate?
Do wonder what would have happenned had you accepted the parliamentary challenge.
veritas a very interesting character.. with those large bloodhound eyes. Father of Emma and Mathew-who no-one thought would go on to become a top PR and marry Rupert Murdoch's daughter Elisabeth (and to his credit..reputedly disliked by Murdoch).

I'm fascinated to read of his other careers. I only ever saw him as the rather serious Liberal MP.
