Innocent Accused	Power corrupts,and so checks and balances need to be put into the system.For example in politics we have 2 houses,and regular elections. There are not suitable checks on the police.It shouldn't be too hard to strike a balance that satisfies both parties,not just one.
JK2006	Now what's the chance of the last two being charged with something? So easy to stitch someone up; so hard to take meejah criticism if they are released without charge. At very least they will be deported, implying that they are a danger though nothing can be proved. Like Guantanamo. Or JK 9 years ago.
JC	Michael Winner is basically saying, "I'm all right Jack. They've never done anything bad to me so what's the problem?" I agree with him that we do need a police force. The unfortunate fact is that people are unable to police themselves in any rational way. The other unfortunate thing is that the police are now not behaving rationally either. This needs to be sorted out quickly, or society will totally collapse.
veritas	your'e pretty spot on Emma. Any problems with the police come from the top. It isn't really "one bad apple in the barrel" it's commanders who set the tone. Some cops who cover the faces as in he G20 episodes, and remove their badges wouldn't dare do it if their bosses came down on them like a ton of bricks. It's an indication they have intent to do something and not be recognised. As for "trial by media"..police media units would give soapie star publicists a run for their money in the way they issue blatantly prejudical information and then "leak" as cases progress. This has got really bad over the past 10 years or so. The Hendon training centre was run for years by a very decent commander-Peter Ryan, a moral and ethical man who was recruited by NSW to clean up a corrupt force which he successfuly did before going to the Olympics as chief of security. It's a shame he couldn't go back to the UK. ps: Micheal Winner can be a goose sometimes but he is fun.
BR	I used to think exactly like Michael Winner. I thought they were esential. But I dont think they are. I believe they are an expensive waste of taxpayers money. They choose WHO to prosecute on political and economic grounds. They pick on the weak ( Ian Tomlinson was typical and De Menezes ) and support the strong ( multinationals ) For instance they work for the banks FOR NOTHING clamping down on fraud YET THEY WANT TO CHARGE small businesses like music venues or football clubs to police outside their events. WHY ? The Police are now a POLITICISED force who are there to carry out there things : 1. Protect the ruling junta and apply their "politically correct" laws - hence they arrest Christians who flyer gay events etc. 2. Arrest opponents to the junta. Damian Green - members of most parties etc. To put fear into them. The same to bloggers and journalists who are against the junta. 3. Support the financial institutions that keep them in power. That is why they they put MILLIONS into anti fraud squads to support the banks. That is why the junta gave 10 years of tax money to bail out the banks BUT would not bail out WOOLIES etc. If people cant see what is happening in front of their eyes fine - the media conceals this to a certain extent. I am not a conspiracy theorist - I am a political historian. Most intelligent people have been taught the Police are our "friends" - we must unlearn this behaviour and I will give you an example of this...... A man called JK was taught to believe that the Police were good and wanted the truth. He still wants to believe that now. Because it was drummed into him when he was young and possibly it was true back then. But when faced with serious allegations he soon realised that the Police whom he thought were fair - actually were there to crucify him and change evidence and use his innocent words to try and trap him. Why ? because JK was part of the agenda. Part of the plan to put fear into people. I will explain further. In the 70s to 90s JK sang our soundtrack - made our hit records. Was a fun figure on TV. Enjoyed life and was the public's "friend". What better person to "use" than to criminalise that person whom everyone had "into their homes on TV and radio for years" ? to spread the fear that this JUNTA wants to spread. They at the same time have arrested others since JK ( football managers - other big TV stars ) and tried to do the same. But these stars had LEARNED from JK and others not to co-operate with the police and offer NO COMMENT interviews. Therefore they were not charged because to get a charge on an allegation that is NOT TRUE you need to argue your innocence so they can "make a case out of your innocent answers" - I know that sounds crazy but that is why there is a right to remain silent. If you are innocent then you must remain silent. The law says ; innocent until proven guilty. The Police try to persuade innocent people to muddy the waters. You dont have to prove your innocence if you are innocent. There will be NO evidence against you. This is the lie the current GESTAPO use against terror suspects and people they wish to get rid of. Now the controversial bit : I also have HARD EVIDENCE that MAJOR LAWYERS in London actually are in league with the POLICE and GOVERNMENT to try and fix things. The lawyers earn alot of money and therefore do what the JUNTA want them to do. The big legal firms in London are now (many of them ) owned and operated by friends of BLAIR and even family members of New Labour MPS and Cabinet members. I am sure if you are a person reading this in the Legal Profession you will be nodding your head right now. There is a massive story about LEGAL AID and NEW LABOUR waiting for an investigative journalist wanting to show how these big legal companies let down the vulnerable because they want to keep their "Junta" pay offs. The whole system is corrupt from top to bottom. Very sad but 15 years of New Labour has totally tainted it. The Spin from Number 10 is just a very small tip of a very nasty iceberg. The public carry on with fingers in their ears because facing up to this would mean doing something - and we are all guilty of wanting a quiet life. But this is how Hitler won.
