I was disappointed by the change in the voting announcements. They should keep it to the countries who actually made the final. However, that is a small gripe. Overall the show was great fun.
I loved the "dreadful racket" of Lordi, and was pleased they won, even though I was rooting for Lithuania.
El Tel helped to keep us amused, as always.
I was amazed at Malta's poor result. Even with a flat performance on the night, when a teenage girl hears a song only once but can't singing it around the house you'd think it would be a promising sign.
I was fairly accurate in my prediction for the UK's placing. It deserved nothing better.
It was the best Eurovision Song Contest for many years. |

I enjoyed it, a bit like Lotto, really! The thread on the Tipsheet was becoming very Woganesque! |

see the Tipsheet board for more commentary but I do agree; back to the old voting system please! |

getting to vote, and also by not allowing them to announce the votes, just the top 3. This takes all the excitement away from it. This year it was the same old rubbish of the baltic countries voting for each other and the baltic countries voting for each other. It looks like some dreadfull racket from Finland is going to win. Civilisation is doomed!!! |
