BR agree with you about Darlington.

I visited the Arena last year and found them really friendly - but coping with around 4,000 max crowds in a ground which seated 27,000 was very strange.

They had Elton John there last summer and it is a fabulous arena with excellent parking. It should be used by several clubs in the area and used for more concerts but its future maybe demolition if the club goes under which would be terrible when the UK has not many excellent facilities like this.
JC Terrible mistakes by the referee in the Chelsea v Barcelona game also, but no excuse for the behavior of certain Chelsea players. If the mistakes had been against Barcelona, Chelsea would have gladly accepted the win. That's how it goes.

I've always hated the away goal rule. It's almost as silly as the offside rule. Extra time and penalties is the only fair way to resolve a stalemate in cup games.

While on the subject of football, it looks like it'll soon be RIP Darlington FC. The only genuine offer to buy the club has been turned down by the receivers, and it is said that there is little to justify them staying in the league. I disagree with that last bit because they have been playing quite well, but the town hasn't really got behind the club and so doesn't deserve a football team. George Reynolds had ambition and built the larger stadium with promotion in mind, but the Council denied his request to be able to hire it out for concerts and other events to help finance the club. Once he had left the club the Council reversed this decision, so they obviously just had a grudge against an ex-con. Nobody put as much into the club as Mr Reynolds, and it looks as though this has been their final season. It would be nice to see one of the Premiership teams come to the aid of Darlington FC, but I can't see that happening when the town itself won't offer support.
The Fat Controller Ronaldo and the referee were a disgrace last night! The freekick given in which Ronaldo scored was a blatant dive. A match ruined by cheat tactics.
robbiex I agree, although Fletcher did touch the ball, he ad his legs around the Arsenal player. This tackle was almost identical to the one Totenham did on United a couple of weeks ago and Man U got a Penalty. I didn't see Fergie complaining about that one not been a penalty!!
I think Chelsea can beat Man U. Man U have already lost about 4 times this season and Chelsea look pretty solid under Hiddink.
JC I haven't had a good look at it, but I'm told Fletcher as sent off because, even though he got the ball, he made a scissor tackle from behind which is an automatic sending off offence.
