The Fat Controller Hate it! Hate it! Hate it!
Emma Bee If someone made a comedy about a seaside hotel and called it Fawlty Towers featuring Bazil and Cybil and a waiter called Manuel it would be more than similar. Just as the new Reggie Perin is more than similar to the original. I loved Martin Clunes as Doc Martin and in his new British Isles program, but I still see Leonard Rossiter as Reggie Perin and just cannot accept Clunes in the role. But I agree that there will be many who have never seen the original and so that won't be the case for them.
JK2006 Critics hate it but I'm really enjoying it.
Am I alone?
I don't compare it at all with Rossiter's original series; this is completely different but still very good.
As though someone made a hilarious comedy about a seaside hotel; similarities with Fawlty Towers but totally different.
