Emma Bee I wanted Roddick to win the final because it seems such a long time since he has won one. He was just that bit more tired at the end than Federer, but it was a wonderful game.
Marcus I, personally really enjoyed this year's men's final. Yes, it lacked some of the great shots of the previous two years, but it was real edge-of-your-seat stuff that I, and the millions watching around the world will never forget.
Really, really dramatic stuff. Tennis, and sport in general, was the real winner. Well done Federer, now surely the greatest ever. As for Roddick, dignified in defeat, seems like a good bloke. I hope he wins Wimbledon at least once- he deserves to.
mikemacca I think the scoreline suggests it was a fascinating fabulous match, sadly it was rather dull and uninspiring and lacking the quality of the last 2 finals. Federer made scores of unforced errors on his forehand and I didn't think Roddick played remotely near as well as he did 4 years ago.

By contrast ESPN were re-showing the 1977 Wimbledon semi final between Borg and Gerulaitis at the same time as this was on and the quality of shot was far greater without having the huge serves.

Bring back the wooden racquets !
robbiex Great game, Roddick was unlucky not to win as he wasn't broken until the last game of the match. He must be gutted, I just wish he would take of that bloody cap, even when meeting royalty he wears it back to front, what he is hiding.
BR That set was a bit long !!!!

Congrats to Federer. The best player in the World and possibly Murray apart the only one worth watching in my opinion.

Can see Murray having his time soon - these two are great but they are past their best.
