BarntheBarn Though writer JMG has vowed not to write any more 'The Street' in protest at ITV's shrinking of their Manchester film department (ITV actually make the show and own DVD rights).

Incidently for those who missed it 'The Works' discount booksellar have the season 1/2 boxset for less than £5!
JK2006 My favourite scene was the argument with the other squaddie who said his mental problems were far worse than the obvious facial ones... brilliant and clever.
Also the wonderful Muslim taxi driver who only cared that the boy should live - a superb touch.

How fantastic to watch a drama that actually assumed intelligence in the viewer.

I hope to god it gets the ratings it deserves.
Chris Retro For once, a new show with great acting and scripts, and puts it's message across forcefully and without patronising or lecturing.... Superb.
A pearl in a sea of shite!

Meanwhile, the soaps continue to insult the intelligence of the viewer blatantly (am I the only one who sees the Maria/Tony storyline in Corrie as some kind NuLabour style test as to how much rubbish people will accept these days?)
The Fat Controller That should read 'our thoughts are with you'...

Harry Patch and Henry Allingham should have both received state funerals.
The Fat Controller Showing the reality of war. 'Are thoughts are with you' bollocks. The reality is that most people don't give a shit!

Yes... thought provoking and very moving.
