veritas you are so correct: Angela Lambert's Biography of "Hitler's Mistress" Eva Braun gives an extraordinary insight into Hitler's daily life which was possibly as banal and dull as any can be ...yet he proved to be one of the biggest monsters of all time.

And it shows how often he didn't actually issue orders to say, kill the Jews-he would tell complete psychopaths like Heinrich Himmler he 'just wanted the Jewish problem solved'.

One psychopath employs another and so on down the line which ends in the total destruction of so many lives while Hitler held afternoon tea parties at the Berghof as Berlin crumbled.

Today it's called plausable deniability.

Before the 2000 Olympics I met a 90 year old Olympian from the Berlin games who had received his medal from Hitler. When I asked his impression he said-"up close, pasty faced, bad halitosis and ordinary looking " But when he gave a speech the Germans seemed to go into raptures"
JK2006 These are the people who were really close to our leaders and knew them best.
Very interesting autobiog, it seems.
