Emma Bee The problem with putting cricket on a free channel is that it takes up most of the day. It would have to be on one of the digi channels. Football lasts only 90 mins with maybe a 2hr slot. Cricket just keeps on going and it has far fewer devoted fans that football. There are some people who are still limited to five channels because they cannot get freeview (my mum for example), and there is little enough choice on TV for her as it is.
BR Congrats to England. They worked very hard this time for the victory against all odds having lost Flintoff and Pieterson in the last test.

Not a vintage team but a good victory nonetheless. I shall enjoy smiling at the Aussie bands I work with in the next few months !
Marcus Well done England! Great stuff!
Completely agree it should be free for everyone.
I'm not one of these people who believes all cricket should be on BBC and presented by Frank Bough, but home Tests should be free. The game needs that sort of exposure to thrive long term, and get the youngsters interested.
robbiex This has been a fascinating Ashes series, even though I've only been able to follow it on bbc 5 live radio and the internet. I think it is a travesty that the ashes series isn't regarded as one of the crown jewels of sport that should be shown on a terestrial channel.
The Cat My father and brother are both potty about cricket, but I've never been able to get into it. I wish the England team well though.
