Emma Bee Bit of a difference between courting publicity to sell your music and being dragged through the gutter press on the strength of an allegation by a well paid accuser. But that's modern Britain. We love to knock people down and keep kicking them until the die. Then we mock their memory. Glitter should be left in peace so long as he's living within the law, as should we all.
veritas to the contrary..the repeated media attention on GG defies all concepts of fairness and the right of a person to a private life after they have served their penalty.

Indeed I'm pleased the Australian parliament is now considering new privacy laws that prevent publication of a person's criminal record once they have served their time and been released from prison. It's already now an offense to discriminate against a person because of previous convictions..although obviously that's a difficult one to enforce.

You either believe in the current system of law or you don't..and the tabloids don't.They believe they have the right to dredge up garbage from the past to fill an empty space.

I reckon they will eventually bring about their own undoing and that will come as soon as Murdoch goes to his maker and the whole shaky deck of cards he has built will come crashing down.

Besides..those who cast stones etc...and I don't know one person who works in the media or on tabloids that doesn't have their own cupboard full of skeletons.
Angel I think its very easy to condemn Glitter but you cant turn off interest from the public when you once courted publicity.
robbiex The reason why most imbeciles in this country think that he is more evil than Hitler is because his picture is always preceded by the words Monster, Fiend, Pervert or other such dramatic words.

These words would be appropriate for Joseph Fritzel or Phillip Garrido (I don't think any decent human being would argue otherwise). However Glitter was jailed for looking at pictures and a molestation charge in Vietnam where corruption is rife. Hardly in the same league as Hitler. I guess in time the interest will die down in Glitter. Even NOTW readers will get bored of 'monster buys a bottle of milk' stories.
Chris Retro I'm suprised he dare step outside his door given that most imbeciles in this country think he's more evil than Adolf Hitler
