JK2006 I'm afraid I watch it rarely now and I used to watch regularly.
Just don't find any chemistry there and no humour for me anymore.
Anthony I disagree, JK. I think Stelling and Riley have bedded in nicely now, and I still never miss an episode, but I suppose you can't argue with viewing figures.

The Cat is right about it being a national institution. If Channel 4 play the numbers game and pull the plug on it, I'll feel like I've been robbed of part of my life. That sounds a bit sad, doesn't it?
The Cat I've only ever watched one full edition of Countdown, and that was just to see Rick Wakeman. It wasn't bad but didn't exactly give me a buzz. I never really liked Carol Vorderman but then she began her 'internet is swamped with paedophiles' campaign, screaming "I am a mother!!" as though that made her some kind of expert. That damaged her intellectual reputation somewhat. The new girl is prettier anyway.

I'm surprised Countdown lasted this long, but TV ratings in general are falling and so the producers should not be overly surprised that theirs has too. In some ways, even though I'm not a viewer of it, I see Countdown as a national institution - seen all over the world in 'About a Boy' - and I hope it survives. It's got to be more worthy of investment than Peter and Katie.
