Foz The extravagance would have been if you'd taken the Rolls - in that traffic at 10mpg it would have been another £45 in fuel.

JK2006 No, actually; lovely day so I went in baby car which gets as many comments if not more and was a godsend nipping around blockages and between buses plus wonderfully parkable.

JK2006 It's a nightmare at the moment; park closed; roads everywhere shut; avoid South Ken totally; my trip to Harrods and back took 2 hours (normally 20 minutes).

Nice in Harrods though - four people came up and shook my hand smiling sweetly including one lady who said "I recognised your voice".

Not the world the tabloids pretend, full of bile, hatred and spitting.

Mind you my lovely Bresse chicken (for boiling tonight a la Stein, see food post) was £45! Isn't that rather a lot for a small chicken?
