veritas the current Oz PM Kevin Rudd was active anti-Iraq & Afghan wars from the beginning but is now stuck with it. I think he's looking for a way out-he withdrew the troops in Iraq and left only army engineers etc to help with re-building.

As he still hovers around 70% approval rate after 2 years with his party around 60% everything he does is being well received.
Emma Bee Surely any good commander will explore all of his options, including looking for a way to bring hostilities to an end as soon as possible. That's not quite the same as cutting and running.
In The Know When countries are being asked to send MORE troops to prop up this corrupt regime (but on the "plus"side, they do do as they are told !) look who is the latest wanting to cut and run -
