Innocent Accused
Actually Socialist and communist tendencies seem to be far more at the fore here than Nazi.By comparison the left was far more into mass control than the right.
Yes it is worrying how far Labour has gone down this road, and how it is even now not seeing how unpopular this has become.
Don't however believe the Tories will be any different,Thatcher started a lot of this stuff in the first place.

Oh, I agree entirely, JK. What we have seen over the last few years is indicative of a steady creep toward the removal of civil liberties. We should counter it by sensible thought and sensible action. The hysterical reaction of crying "Nazi" does not fall within that criteria. We should recognise it for what it is. And use argument not inflated and exaggerated claims. They lose more supporters than they gain.

Ah now I tend to sympathize with you LO in your battles with BR's tendency to exaggerate (IN CAPITALS) but here I do fear that the Nazis came to power through cleverly (and perhaps even honestly) seeming far less extreme than they became.
We should fear the gradual creep and erasure of liberties.
What happened to me in 2000 was the clue for me to the direction society was going because it illustrated how dangerous the marriage between media, police and judicial system can be. Chuck politicians into that mix and a truly frightening power base emerges in a very subtle way.

There you go again. I hope for your sake you never actually have to live under Nazism. You'd find out very quickly what the difference is between that and our current system. Crying wolf. Again.
