david in case anyone is interested, the Thora Hird piece (the last thing she ever recorded) is on iPlayer....

JK2006 I thought the Thora Hird Waiting For A Telegram was one of the finest TV moments I have ever seen. Compared very nicely with the awful predictable X Factor on ITV. I can guess which one won the ratings. Says it all really.
david a wonderful evening of Alan Bennett last night on BBC2. I loved the fly on the wall hotel documentary, very much of its time.

And the Talking Heads monologue by Thora Hird was gripping, very funny at times and deeply moving at the end. I wish there was more stuff like this on tv.
veritas defintely
david yes indeed!
