david This is one Mike Leigh film I haven't seen, tho I have meant to.

I love his films.

Secrets and Lies changed my life (really) and I was also moved by Naked and Career Girls.

I can't see him doing a 'happy' film, but he has, so maybe I should see it lol
JK2006 I adored it but then I am a massive Mike Leigh fan.
SW Likeable? Spending more than 5 minutes with a person like that would drive me close to the brink of hari-kari. I thought it was a dreadful film - but since it wholly revolves around the main character who I detested, that's understandable.
robbiex Great Mike Leigh film on channel 4 (on sunday). Really uplifting and thought provoking, and a fantastic performance from Sally Hawkins as the very likeable Poppy.
