JK2006 I loved the second part too; clever and original and unusual, looking at real human beings and the situations they get into.

the pathologists' psychological profiling (!)

This concept is an interesting but dated one.

It really started on TV with Jack Klugman as Quincy M.E. in the 70's and 80's (Q not only uncovered the cause and motive, but also caught the killer) and has been given a new lease of life with advanced computer techniques.

All spy and crime dramas now have a computer geek/expert at their core; this has the advantage of providing a variety of new leads - on demand, and with no filming costs. A message on a screen - points the episode in whatever direction is desired.

Star Trek used a similar ploy/ruse when the 'beam me up scottie' method was used to instantly transport characters from one scene/world to the next!

Fair enough.

But there is also the plagiarism factors. The autopsies are straight out of CSI (just a tad more gruesome) and the pathologists' psychological profiling (!) is akin to Criminal Minds.

Then there is the lead male/female attraction, or not...

Reminiscent of the X-files maybe?

BR This new series is really good - the best yet.

I have to agree with JK on this one.
JK2006 Funnily enough it's that slow, subtle telling I love; it really intrigues.
