People like Cameron, Clegg, either {indeed both} of the Millibands, Balls {the man not the comment} and Cooper... along with a huge swathe of other "new" politicos... not a principle or ethic about them. Opportunistic career politicians who place themselves before their parties and their parties before their people. Where are Benn, Skinner, Powell {yes, even Powell...} when you need them? There's no big idea, no conviction, just the same old grasping to be first onto the hallowed turf known as "the centre ground".
People keep telling us we need strong leadership. I say a hearty "bollocks" to that. We've had "strong leadership" since 1979 and have now sunk so low that if the country was just one consumer there isn't an agency in the world would trust it with a credit card. Strong leadership isn't about who can shout loudest or tell the funniest jokes at PMQs. It's about convictions, leadership, and inspiration. Our current collective of spin merchants, wide boys and devotees of the politics of convenience don't deserve our support. Until the Liberal Democrats see sense and replace Clegg with Cable I see no point in placing my vote with any of the three main parties. So once again, come May, I'll be voting Green. Don't tell me- you stopped reading ages ago. Rant over.

Excellent post and from the heart. I agree with you but I am so worried about Brown and what would happen if he won again I have to vote Tory - not out of conviction but to stop Brown.

I'm still up for the revolution JK. Prepared to strip naked and sit in a wheelbarrow whilst your good self and BR wheel me up the mall as we all sing the chorus to 'Vile Pervert'.

It's a start... :dry

(my apologies...the imagery I've conjured up may stay with you for some time)

That had me laughing out loud. I think we would be arrested as terrorists and JK could claim he was only doing a "Scanner" test in a pre-emptive strike........

Viva The King of Hits revolution !!
