JK2006 His Dad is another John King who also worked for the BBC (Bristol) - we often got each other's letters!
The Fat Controller You did the right thing. Simon King is quite brilliant. Must be the surname.
JK2006 when somebody in TV said "these mobile phones will soon be a sound of everyday life" and put the bloody ring tones in every episode. This evening I was watching Material Girl, which I quite like, and the sound of cell phones annoyed me so much I turned over to watch Simon King (no relation) in Shetlands - no phones!

There you go programme makers. Lesson learned?
